Biography
Dee Dee Russell is a real bohemian artist: multi-media artist, working with a variety of different media and disciplines. In particular Film, Underground Television, Performance Art, Painting, Textiles and Digital Art; she has also dabbled in Dramatic Acting, Ceramics and Jewellery.
Her recent statement/wearable art works can be divided into 3 main categories:

Textile Creations: The main focus of these pieces is to move art off the hangers an onto bodies and make it interactive, with a range of subtle glo-in-the-dark and day glo colors " (inspired by San Francisco) and a series of handbags created with parts from 1980's electronics.
Buttons and Boxes: Bright funky pieces, great for gifts or as a treat for yourself.
Dee Dee lives in San Francisco, CA. She has a varied background in art, health and film, hospitality and she can crotchet blindfolded with her hands behind her back. In 1990 she won First Prize from the American Film Institute for Yes Means Yes, and attended San Francisco State University for Post Production Film. She returned to her filmmakers roots in 2011 and has recently began a crowd funding campaign on Indie GoGo. She is about to have a very happy holiday season with her online store.

"Born and raised in Wisconsin I started making art when I was very young staring with the satire of Mad Magazine and the pop art of Betty and Veronica comic books and Mad Magazine was a big influence.Back in the late 1980's I was in a punk rock band and decided to decorate a vintage purse to publicize the band. When I first go interested in this subject I discovered I was the only one doing so.
Then I decided to decorate neckties and they were well received, all the while creating cartoons for Dee Dee TV, designing all the posters for all of my multi media art events.
I started the glitter paintings collection long before Martha Stewart every heard of it back in the early 200's making me one of the very first artists to paint in this particular medium which I consider an anti depressant.
